Cleghorn Oil, Inc. was started in 1923 by Oscar T. Charron, Sr. with a hand cranked pump and five gallon buckets, and has been family owned and operated since.
The business was expanded in 1946 by his son Oscar Jr. with new trucks and a new facility in the heart of Cleghorn.
In 1988, the company was expanded further by purchasing the land and building at 409 Princeton Rd., West Fitchburg.
As of October 1994, they began operations from their newly state-of-the-art bulk storage facility. This facility holds nearly 1 million gallons and enables Cleghorn Oil, Inc. to provide uninterrupted flow of oil to their 20 (cellular phone dispatched) home delivery trucks. After 14 years in west fitchburg our facility is still one of the finest and cleanest in massachusetts.
Our goal here at Cleghorn is to provide oil to our customers at economical prices in a courteous, timely and professional manner. Our current staff has been with us for an average of 11 years and rising.
